Hello reader! I see you have chosen to follow the adventure that is my first story! Now, keep in mind that this is from an American standpoint, so things may get confusing. (Sorry if that offended anyone!) Anyway, here we go!

This is the story about how I learned about dragons. That's right, their real. I should know, after all I am one. But it wasn't always that way, I was once human, it all started two years ago...

It was just another spring day, I had just celebrated my 14th birthday, I was out working on the fort in the nearby forest, which I had claimed mine. I was belting along to another country song and getting another board out of our Polaris when I heard a thump behind me. I turned slowly around and saw a huge black dragon towering over me I turned all the way around, slipped, and fell flat on my ass. The dragon lowered its head and bared its teeth. I scrambled for the Polaris, the dragon lunged for me, but it missed. I started the Polaris and spun dirt and rock into the dragon's face as I tore off. I looked back triumphantly as the dragon wiped dirt and mud out of its face. I suddenly remembered that I had locked the gate and was heading straight for it. Being the dumb guy I am, I forgot to put my seat belt on. I looked back just in time to see the front of the Polaris collide with the gate. I was sent through the windshield, and several feet where I was knocked unconscious.

What felt like hours later I came to to find myself battered and bloody, hanging several hundred feet up in the air by dragon's claws. I was trying to make sense of the situation when the dragon spoke, "Well, well, well, it's nice to see you back with the living." A million questions flooded my mind, and came spilling out of my mouth, "Where are we? Who are you? Why do you want me? Where are we going?" The dragon sighed, "I'm glad we only do this every fifty years. My name is Zorath. We in the dragon community have been watching you for several weeks now to decide if you are worthy of becoming draconic. That is, becoming a dragon." "Really?!?" I butted in, "That is one of my biggest dreams!" Zorath replied, "Yes, we know. You see, us dragons have a way of being lonely, even in our community. So, every fifty years, we go out and pick someone to become a dragon with us. So, here you are, on your way to become a dragon." "Jeesh, that sounds bad and good all at the same time." I replied. Zorath didn't respond.

Several minutes later, we arrived at a clearing in a forest with a hole several feet wide and seemingly infinitely deep. Zorath let me down and landed next to me. I stretched out my stiff muscles as Zorath said, "Jump." I looked at him and pointed over my shoulder at the hole. He nodded. I whispered, "Well, if it makes me a dragon, then I guess I will." I walked through the soft grass and over to the hole as I contemplated what I was about to do. After sorting it all out in my mind, I let gravity pull me into the dark abyss beyond...

After falling for an unknown distance, I fell into a pool of liquid, and I was suddenly in a haze. I was jerked back to my senses as I was pulled from the pool. Wiping the mysterious liquid from my eyes, I found i was staring into the eyes, or glasses rather, of a tall red dragon.
The dragon set me down and cleared his throat. The dragon said in an odd accent, "Hello, you must be the new soon-to-be dragon. My name is Jargon. I am the dragon community's alchemist." I looked at him with a perplexed expression on my face. The dragon sighed and put his hand on his face. "Look, basically I'm the guy whose going to make you into a dragon." I nodded and said, "Lead the way!" The dragon turned and began walking into a dark cave. I nervously followed, it was tough going. I swear I heard the dragon chuckle as I stubbed my toe, or ran into a stalactite.
After walking for about a half an hour, I saw a orange glow coming off a cave wall. After walking some more, I turned the corner to find a large room, the walls lined with old wooden bookshelves filled with bottles. There were pieces of equipment and papers strew across a bowing wood table. A large light hung from the ceiling. It had several dragon's heads with flames in their mouths. There was a neatly made bed in the corner with worn blankets. there were two doors in the entire room, one was labeled "Changing room" the other was unlabeled.

The dragon walked over to the table and picked up a piece of unusual paper and a sharpened stick. The dragon blew a tiny flame out of his mouth and lit the stick on fire. After blowing it out he said, "Well, now for the fun part. What kind of dragon do you want to be?" I looked at him with sparkles in my eyes. I stammered, "W- Well, I would like to be a green dragon with black claws, horns, and spikes. I would like red eyes, um, I would like to be able to breathe fire." Jargon was furiously writing down my requests. I waited for him to finish, he looked up and said, "Now, how big?" Chuckling at the obvious joke, I said, "I would like to have a seven foot long tail, be fifteen foot long from nose to tail with a rather long neck.." As Jargon finished writing this down, he began walking over to the shelves of bottles. He began selecting bottles off the shelf. He turned to me and said, "Might as well make yourself comfortable, this may take awhile. You can nap on my bed if you would like." I shrugged my shoulders and walked over to the bed. I sat down on it and discovered it was filled with hay. I lay in it and fell into a troubled sleep.

Awhile later, I was shaken awake by Jargon. "Holy hell! I just had the weirdest dream! I was in this dragon's lab-" I puttered out as I realized it wasn't a dream. I looked at Jargon who was holding a glass bottle with a green liquid sloshing around inside. He handed it to me and explained, "This is the potion that will make you a dragon. Go into the changing room and drink it." I replied, "Well, I guess this is it for my human existence." I walked over to the large door, cracked it open and took one last look back. I walked in and shut the door. I saw a hook on the wall and hung my soaking sweatshirt on it.

I looked around the bare room and at the bottle. I popped the top off and chugged the whole thing down. It tasted bitter and felt like fire going down my throat, it hit my stomach and sat like a burning ember. I dropped the bottle and clutched my stomach as I found that my pinkie and next finger were fusing together, the same was going for my feet. As soon as that was done, my hands began growing green and scaly, while my fingernails were growing long, sharp, and black. The scales began spreading up my elongating arms. As soon as the scales hit my chest, my legs snapped and I fell to the floor. I began writhing in pain as the scales spread all over my torso. I felt an unusual pain straining against the back of my bluejeans and I realized I was growing a tail. The tail ripped my jeans off and took advantage of its newly found freedom. Both of my shoulder blades shattered as two arms came out my back. The arms grew long, webbed fingers and I realized those were my wings. I could feel my neck popping as it elongated and became scale-covered like my torso and legs. The scales reached my bottom jaw ans started pushing my face out. I couldn't breathe until I saw a mussel where my face used to be. I felt my tong stretch to fill my mouth and felt a sharp pain on the tip. My eyes began to burn to the point to where I had to close them. Once I opened them again, I noticed that I could see further and in more detail. The scales reached the top of my head and pushed my hair out. I felt to pains on my head as black horns sprouted. There was the most uncomfortable feeling as my guts rearranged themselves and expanded to fit my larger body. I finally felt no pain as I finished my transformation.

I stood and noticed that my stance was now quadrupled. I walked like a drunken man over to the door. I opened it and saw Jargon pacing nervously. When he saw me, he exclaimed, "Wow. You came out better than I expected. Now rest. You've been through a lot. You need the energy for later." I wearily crawled back into the bed, curled up, and fell asleep.
